Mr Gillon has extensive corporate and commercial experience and continues to practice as a solicitor in corporate, commercial and property areas.

Mr Gillon holds degrees in Commerce, Jurisprudence and Law. He has been a fellow of the Australia Society of Certified Practicing Accountants and was admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in Western Australia in 1976 and is a Notary Public..

He is currently a non-executive director of ASX listed Impress Energy Limited and has been Chairman of a number of Australian listed companies with operations ranging from mineral resources, oil and gas, technical and industrial.
